One of the cool things about living in southern California is there are events always happening. On Nov. 11, 2018 the 2018 Long Beach Vegan Sweets Con was here. I have not been to many vegan events, since this was nearby, I would go see what was happening. The general admission was $10.00, after taxes and fees it was like $12 and some change.
The event took place at the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel on the second floor. I got there at about 11:00 am as they were opening, mostly because I was hungry and I wanted to see what I could find. I do not eat too many sweets, okay maybe Swedish Fish. One of the first thing I wanted to try was a cookie and they had plenty of them there. I was able to pick up a pretty large vegan chocolate chip cookie for $ 3.00 dollars. The cookie was from Mama Chingona Vegana:
The cookie was pretty filling and as I walked around I was eating samples. One of the samples that impress me were these gummy like "Vegan Spicy Peach Bombs". I bought a packet and ate them all. I was getting a sugar high from eating all these sweets, so I figured I would stop there. I picked these up from Chayos Sweet Shenanigans
There were a few other vendors I wanted to try, one of them were the vegan fried nozzeralla sticks made by Nodoh Brand. Since I was here with family, my sister decided to try them out and I ate some of what she got. They were pretty good.
One of the main reason why I decided to go to the Long Beach Vegan Sweets Con was Evolution Burger was there and I wanted to try out their impossible burger. It was pretty good, but the wait time, they basically got over run, since this was a pretty large crowd.
Overall the event was a fun and sugar high event for me and family. I'll probably be returning next year, hopefully they will have it at a bigger venue, since it was pretty pack and hot.
